Reckoner — Junior Varsity Enterprises, LLC
Reckoner is an expense-splitting app operated by Junior Varsity Enterprises, LLC. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account info: your email and password (used to sign in), your name, and an optional phone number so friends can find you.
Payment handles you choose to add (Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal). These are stored only to display to the people you split with so they can pay you — Reckoner never moves money itself.
The groups, expenses, splits, and settlements you create, and any receipt photos you upload to scan.
If you turn on notifications, a device token so we can send them.
Basic technical data needed to run the service (e.g. log data).
To provide the core service: tracking who owes what, splitting bills, and recording settle-ups.
Receipt photos you choose to scan are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to read the items, store, tax, and tip. Only the image you submit is sent, and only to power that scan.
To send the notifications you’ve enabled (e.g. a new expense or a recorded payment).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Members of a group can see that group’s expenses, balances, and the names/payment handles of people in it.
Service providers that run the app on our behalf: our hosting/database provider (Supabase), our web host (Vercel), Google (for AI receipt scanning), and Apple (for subscription purchases). They process data only to provide their service.
We may disclose information if required by law.
Reckoner Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment; we receive only a confirmation that your subscription is active so we can unlock Pro features. We never see your card details.
You can edit or remove your name, phone, and payment handles anytime in Profile.
You can permanently delete your account anytime from Profile → Delete account. This removes your personal information (name, phone, email, payment handles) and signs you out for good. Shared expense balances stay visible to the people you split with — shown as “Deleted user” — so their records stay accurate. You can also email us using the address below.
You can turn notifications off in your device settings.
Reckoner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update this page. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
